The Adults DPS are live

The Commissioning Alliance Adults Social Care team is pleased to announce the recent opening of two new Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS) for adults residential/nursing and supported living care placements in North West London, effective from 1st September 2024. These new DPS frameworks represent a strategic step forward in meeting the needs of our local authority members and the communities we serve. They replace the previous DPS for bedded care, which concluded on 31st August 2024, and have been designed to enhance service provision for adults in care, focusing on older adults and those with learning disabilities and mental health needs (all age).

What’s New?

The updated contracts have been designed to improve service delivery and outcomes for our residents:

  • Enhanced Quality Standards and Local Sufficiency: Built with market shaping in mind, these contracts set out a unified set of terms and conditions, with a focus on quality care standards and ensuring local sufficiency to meet demand.
  • Strengthened Relationship with Local Providers: By focussing on providers delivering services in North West London, the new DPS aims to bolster the sub-regional care market, supporting local businesses and aiming to reduce the need for spot purchases. This approach aligns with our commitment to keeping service users within or close to their home communities.
  • Streamlined Operations for Providers: To simplify the administrative load for providers, these DPS frameworks use a single set of standardised terms and conditions, designed to make the procurement process more efficient.

Eligibility

We encourage all eligible service providers within North West London to apply for the new DPS. To be considered, providers must be delivering services in North West London, ensuring that we not only support the sustainability of the local care market but also prioritise care solutions that keep service users close to their home communities.

By embracing a DPS structure, Commissioning Alliance remains committed to an open and transparent procurement process, where suppliers have equal access to placement opportunities that align with their areas of expertise. Our goal is to create a robust network of care providers who can respond to evolving community needs effectively.

Positive Impact for North West London’s Social Care Landscape

We are excited about the potential these new contracts hold to improve care provision across North West London. This initiative reflects our dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable adults by ensuring that they can access good quality, reliable, and localised care creating a more integrated and sustainable social care landscape.
