15 Mar Setting the Standard recognised by iESE

In January 2022 we applied for the iESE Public Sector Transformation Awards, outlining the fantastic achievements of our Setting the Standard team.

Setting the Standard is a ground-breaking, collaborative service that operates across London, with 31 of the 33 boroughs participating. It ensures that properties used by local authorities for emergency Temporary Accommodation are safe, secure, and regularly inspected.

Previously, there was no comparable system in place to assure the quality of emergency temporary accommodation. This pioneering programme, with its custom-built IT system, jointly agreed minimum standard and property rating system, and experienced inspections officers, was launched to improve efficiency for boroughs and ensure vulnerable people are only placed in safe, decent accommodation.

Whilst we were not ultimately shortlisted as finalists in this extremely competitive category, we were delighted to be awarded the iESE Certificate of Excellence, in recognition of the innovation, use of novel technology, and exemplary standard of work demonstrated by our Setting the Standard team.
